Shine School of Confidence is an Auckland based school, specializing in 'Speech & Drama', 'Drama' and 'Public Speaking & Communication' lessons for students aged 5 - 18 years.
We are currently looking for tutors who love working with primary school students. You would be teaching students from ages 5 – 13 at Auckland schools.
You’ll be reporting to our Director, Janine (Nina) Burchett who will support and guide you. You will go over and beyond to ensure your students gain success in their Trinity College of London, Speech NZ exams, Shine’s own Achievement Awards and the inaugural Shine Sharing.
Shine provides lesson plans and resources that focus on developing the confidence, character, public speaking, and communication skills of our students.
This teaching role is very much about the relationship you create with your students. We’re looking for someone who has heart, warmth and cares deeply and gets excited about their students' growth and development.
Skills required:
Drama/English tertiary qualification or (at least Grade 8) from Trinity College of London/Speech NZ or
Tertiary teaching qualification or at least 3 years teaching experience
Passion for the Creative Arts (theatre, poetry, film, dance, literature)
High emotional intelligence
Highly organised
Outstanding time management skills
Excellent rapport with 5 – 16 year olds
Can work independently and also in a term
Excellent communicator – verbal and written
Has a creative mind + intense vision for what success looks like
Proactive, motivated, uses initiative
Professional, high social etiquette and mature business decorum
Responsibilities include:
Delivering the Shine School of Confidence Speech and Drama programme each week
Contributing creative and meaningful input into the curriculum content
Prompt and professional communication between colleagues, students, parents, and school teachers
Preparing students for Trinity College of London, Speech NZ exams, Shine Achievement Awards, speech competitions, Shine showings
Reporting of students’ progress to parents, teachers, and students when required
Using a variety of learning aids, technology, materials, and equipment to stimulate and inspire
Connecting with and impressing students, parents, and schools
Demonstrates sound knowledge of:

Hosting and organising events to showcases students work
